Knit One, Call Too

The Food Works building, located at 318 South Washington, will have tables, chairs and snacks set up for those who want to show their support by:

1 – Making calls to Indiana congress members about the importance of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), which provides annual funding for Middle Way House. A script will be provided, but participants should bring their own phones to make the calls.

2 – Learning how to knit or crochet, and creating pieces of fabric that will be part of the “Wrapped in Love” project, an annual fundraiser for MWH that brings local textile artists together in creating tree wraps for downtown trees. The project was first started in 2012 by Toby Strout and Mary Ann Gingles, owner of Yarns Unlimited.

3 – Honoring the life of Toby Strout by sharing stories, signing a card for the family, and doing what Toby did best: making the world a better place
