Malcolm Dalglish and the Ooolites join up with Jun Kuribayashi, of Hybridmotion Collective, to bring you Picture Book, this year’s Love Songs for a Lasting World show. Picture Book is a family show that celebrates the awe of the natural world with songs of birds, trees, mythical creatures and wild things. Expect settings of critter songs, Kentucky writer Wendell Berry’s nature poetry, and instructional hip-hop-erettas on the making of pie and an over-the-top peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Jun Kuribayashi, former dancer and Artistic Associate of Pilobolus Dance Theater, will premiere a new solo piece. Picture Book is a boldly optimistic feast of song and dance with soaring melodies, transcendent harmonies, and imaginative movement.

It’s become a Bloomington tradition and signature fundraiser for Middle Way House, an agency which empowers survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking by providing emergency shelter, transitional housing, a 24/7 help and crisis line, youth programs, advocacy, and more throughout six counties in southern Indiana.
The show is expected to last two hours, including a brief intermission. And of course stick around for the apple pie, served fresh from Muddy Fork’s wood-fired oven!
Doors for this general admission event will open at 6:30pm. Discounted tickets are available for youth (18 & younger) and students of any age.
