If you have been a victim of violence, the first thing you need to consider is your own safety. Contact our crisis line at (812) 336-0846 and we can tell you about options for safe housing, community resources, counseling, legal advocacy, and support groups.
Middle Way House provides emergency shelter for those fleeing violence at home and the 30-bed shelter is a safe place available to victims and their families until they have found an appropriate, affordable place to live. Shelter residents sleep in family groups, contribute to the upkeep of their own and group spaces, often share evening meals, and take advantage of programs designed to help them move on with their lives. Emergency shelter is not a long-term solution, but a critical step for many people to take so they can safely make long term decisions.
