Planned Giving

Planned giving, sometimes referred to as gift planning, may be defined as a method of supporting non-profits and charities that enables individuals to make larger gifts than they could make from their income.

As a donor, you can include a provision in your will directing that a gift be paid to Middle Way House, Inc. after your lifetime.  You can give either a specific amount of money or an item of property (a “specific” bequest), or a percentage of the balance remaining in your estate after taxes, expenses, and specific bequests have been paid (a “residual” bequest).  The benefits to you, of a planned gift, are that assets remain in your control during your lifetime and under current tax law, there is no upper limit on the estate tax deduction for your charitable bequests.

The benefits to Middle Way House of a planned gift are immeasurable!

Contact your financial or tax adviser, who can assist you in estate planning.  Please let us know if you do this so that we can acknowledge your gift and properly thank you. You can contact the Development Coordinator by calling (812) 333-7404, or you may reach the Development Coordinator by email:
